Points & Rewards

How do I earn points?

You will earn points on each purchase made, except when purchasing gift cards. The number of points earned per dollar spent depends on your Near & Dear account status. You can also earn points for certain non-purchase activities, such as joining the program or liking and sharing our pages on social media.

How many points do I need before I am eligible for rewards?

The minimum number of points that can be exchanged for rewards is 500. Near & Dear members may begin earning points immediately, but cannot exchange points for rewards until they have earned Emerald status.

Can I exchange or return a reward I received as a loyalty program member?

Yes. If you are returning the entire order, we will refund you the total dollar amount spent (less a 30% restocking fee if the item was personalized) after the discount was applied. The points you used to redeem the discount will also be added back to your rewards account.

Do my points expire?

Unused points will expire after one year of inactivity. Your birthday and special occasion gift rewards will expire after 30 days.

Are any types of purchases not eligible for points?

Purchases of e-gift cards are not eligible for points.

Are there limitations on the number of purchases or activities eligible for points?

There is no limit on the number of points you can earn based on purchases. Points earned for activities such as creating an account, liking and sharing on social media are limited to one time per activity.

When I earn points, can I redeem them immediately?

Near & Dear members may start redeeming points after achieving Emerald status.

What do I do if I believe points were not properly credited to my account?

Please contact Customer Care and we can help.

What happens to my points if I return a product or an order is canceled?

Yes. If you return the entire order, we will refund you the total dollar amount spent (less a 30% restocking fee if the item was personalized) after the discount was applied. The points you used to redeem the discount will also be added back to your rewards account.

How is my tier status determined?

Your VIP tier is determined by the amount you spend within any rolling 12 months period:

  • Emerald, you must spend $500
  • Sapphire, you must spend $1500
  • Diamond, you must spend $3000

Once you qualify, you will instantly move up and have access to that tier's benefits as long as you remain eligible. As you move up in the VIP Tiers, you will retain all benefits from your previous tier.

Does my tier status expire?

Once you are in Emerald, Sapphire or Diamond, you will be in that tier for one year from the date you earned it. Make sure to keep interacting with our program to maintain your status (or even move up a tier)!

What special occasions qualify for the special occasion reward?

That is entirely up to you; we each celebrate different special occasions. You might pick something traditional - like a loved one’s birthday or your wedding anniversary. Or you might pick something out of the box - like your child’s adoption day, or your half birthday. It is entirely up to you. All you need to do is tell us the month and day each year that you would like to receive your additional special occasion gift code. Special occasion gift codes expire 30 days after they are issued. Special occasion gift codes will be issued to your email on file.

How does the alterations reward work? Are there any limitations?

The alterations reward covers the cost of labor and domestic shipping within the United States (an additional fee may apply for international shipping). You will need to purchase the additional materials added to your piece - such as additional chain length, birthstones, symbols, or letters. There would be no additional cost to remove birthstones, symbols, or letters, to shorten a necklace or bracelet, or to resize a ring.
