For over 50 years, Earth Day has been celebrated to honor the earth and raise support for environmental protection. The first event, in 1970, was held in the U.S. and featured a peaceful demonstration of over 20 million Americans. By 2022, Earth Day was observed by more than one billion people in 192 countries across the globe!
Earth Day encourages global citizens -- on individual, corporate, and governmental levels -- to take responsibility for the health of our home. The theme for Earth Day 2023 is Invest In Our Planet.

Here at HAVERHILL, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously, and work to minimize our industrial footprint wherever we can by creating sustainable jewelry. We make sure our raw materials are mindfully sourced and recycled whenever possible. Our reusable packaging is created of recycled materials. And we handcraft all our jewelry to last -- we're not about fast fashion, but about timeless, beautifully made pieces that will last a lifetime and beyond.

Our precious gemstones are all sustainably created; they're "grown" in a lab and are chemically, physically, and optically identical to natural gems. They're the real deal! Our semi-precious gemstones are natural and ethically mined from the earth.

We make all our sustainable gold jewelry from metals that are 100% recycled, traceable, and conflict-free. Gold mines around the world are being depleted; by using recycled gold, we help reduce the need to mine more. Happily, gold can be recycled and used repeatedly without sacrificing its quality or lustrous appearance.

Necklaces
There are several styles of Terra necklaces to choose from. One favorite is the Terra Rosecliff Bar Necklace, which features a gently curved bar studded with 11 prong-set, sustainably grown Emeralds and Sapphires, all on a diamond-cut cable chain of 14k gold.
The Terra Grand 5 Stone Necklace alternates briolette-cut, bezel-set Emeralds and Sapphires on a classic cable chain. So lightweight, you'll forget you're wearing it! Layers beautifully with other necklaces, too.
