In the Neighborhood? Places to Visit in Warren/Bristol
Here at HAVERHILL, we love our coastal studio located in Warren, Rhode Island. We're right on the water, and can see sailboats, seagulls, and fishermen from our windows all summer long.
Warren and next-door Bristol, Rhode Island are both historic small towns with a cozy, welcoming feel. Over the years we've gotten to know some restaurants, boutiques, and other destinations that are always worth a visit. So if you're in the neighborhood, be sure to stop by some of our favorites!
Warren: Nature's Apothecary
When we're looking for the latest in natural skincare, organic household products, and healthy snacks, we head to Nature's Apothecary on Water Street. Just walk through the front door of this inviting shop and feel yourself relax. You'll find incense, candles, gemstones, and many other treasures, too, all thoughtfully presented in this calming space.
Warren: The Square Peg
Located in an historic (c. 1790) building, The Square Peg is one of our favorite restaurants in Warren. Featuring fresh seafood, savory burgers, and a robust cocktail menu, this neighborhood eatery serves fantastic food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. (Show up hungry!)
Warren: Dish
A tiny space loaded with big style, Dish is a mother-daughter boutique offering designer fashions that are sustainably and ethically made. Shop clothing, footwear, jewelry, and accessories that you'll feel good in and feel good about.
Bristol: Colt State Park
There's nothing like fresh air and sunshine to make the spirits soar. Colt State Park offers plenty of both, as well as panoramic views of Narragansett Bay. Open all year 'round, the park has miles of paved walkways, hiking trails, a fishing pier, and a kayak launch. Walk, hike, bike, and rollerblade, then enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the many tables and pavilions.
Bristol: Blithewold
Go back in time with a visit to Blithewold – a stately 45-room mansion on a sprawling coastline estate of over 30 acres. The authentically featured mansion features exhibits of clothing, jewels, paintings, housewares, books, and toys belonging to the original owners, the socially prominent Van Winkle family. Don't forget to explore the gardens and Arboretum as well!
Bristol: The Beehive Café
Whether we're craving a sumptuous breakfast, luxurious lunch, or just a decadent sweet treat, we make a beeline(!) to The Beehive Café, just blocks from Bristol's waterfront. Locals and tourists alike flock to the Beehive for the ultimate in comfort food. Enjoy a craft cocktail on the patio, and be sure to shop the café's pantry for goodies to take home.
We're looking forward to a long, relaxing summer in these two small towns on the bay. Maybe we'll find you at one of our favorite haunts!
