What are birthstones?

What are the Symbolic Meanings of Birthstones?

Which birthstones are best for Wedding Rings?

Diamonds are the hardest gemstones on this scale, measuring a top score of 10. This makes them especially good for everyday wear as they are tough and can stand up to being knocked around. It’s no wonder they are chosen so often for engagement rings since they are both beautiful and durable.

Sapphires and Rubies both measure a 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, making them almost as durable as diamonds. And if you combine Diamonds and Sapphires or Rubies, you are pairing both their strong wearability and their symbolic connections to romance and love.

For a wedding ring, which is better, an eternity band or a half eternity band?

A half eternity band features a sparkly display of gemstones on the face of the ring, but the palm side edge is smooth 14k gold. This not only provides a comfortable fit, but means you are not paying for gemstones that will not be visible. Our Rosecliff Birthstone Stackable Ring features eleven 2 mm prong set gemstones, providing lots of options for repeat stone patterns or even full personalization with 11 birthstones.

FAQ

Does stacking rings together affect ring size?

When stacking rings together they can fit more like a wide band ring, which means it might be good to go up by a half size. If you are not sure of your ring size, we are happy to send you a complimentary ring sizer. This simple mini tape measure helps you find the perfect fit for your ring. Keep in mind that cold weather can shrink fingers up to a half size, so make sure your fingers are warm.

Can I only use my birthstone?

Absolutely not! People wear gemstones for many reasons, not just because they are the birthstone for the month they were born. You may choose to wear a stone because you feel a connection to the color, because the traditional meaning resonates with you, or because it reminds you of someone you love like a child, a friend or a loved one who has passed away. Jewelry is extremely personal and you should feel free to wear gemstones that speak to you.
