Happy Spring! I'm so excited for a new season and counting down the days 'til it warms up here in New England. This time of year can be so much fun and beautiful, but it's also one of the busiest times for my business. I'm hoping to take some time to slow down in all the everyday craziness and soak up spring's gorgeous colors and sounds.
Here are a few spring things I'm excited about:
Sounds of Spring -- Soon, the birds will start chirping outside my window and it will bring back all the good memories of warmer days. I always signal the real start of spring with the sound of the birds chirping in the morning. There's no need for an alarm clock!
Flowers in Bloom -- The first spring blooms will start making an entrance in the next few weeks and that always makes me so happy. I love tulips, and not only enjoying seeing them around town, but I hope to fill my home with them in all different colorful hues.
Bathing in Green -- One thing about New England in the spring is that everything turns vibrantly green and you forget about it until those leaves start coming back and everything is verdant and lush.
Back Outside -- Even in the winter, I make sure to head for a beach walk every day with my husband and my dog, Sumo, but this time of year, I'll be embracing those morning beach walks even more. That briny sea air comes back and it means fairly soon I'll be taking off my shoes to feel the water on my toes.
Cooking Seasonal Meals -- I love to cook at home for my family and I'm looking forward to fresh seasonal produce that comes along with the season -- asparagus, ramps, garlic. I hope to make a lot more healthy good meals this time of year that my kids and husband will enjoy.
Spring Cocktails -- Along with a good healthy seasonal meal, I'm pretty excited for some delicious seasonal cocktails and lighter wines. I am looking forward to my first sip of rosé, a homemade margarita or aperol spritz out on the patio.
Spring Travels -- This spring, I will be heading to some getaways along the east coast as well as Chicago and Michigan for trunk shows and work events. I also can't wait to head back to my family's lakeside home in Vermont and see the lush spring landscape fully transformed.
Mother's Day -- Spring always reminds me of Mother's Day and I'm so excited to celebrate with my children and my mother on that special day. We always do a late brunch but the highlight for me is the early breakfast in bed, accompanied by homemade cards, made by my two cuties.
